Theodore Judah Elementary School PTA

Message from the President

Happy New Year and a warm welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the holiday season and winter break.

It seems like just yesterday we were all together at the Winter Faire! What a great event; thanks to Tom Guarnera and Guy Sanford for all their hardwork putting together the spaghetti dinner and logistics of the evening. Thanks again to the Sacramento Kiwanis for hosting and serving the meal. We also owe huge thanks to all of our teachers for working so rigorously with our studentsto prepare them for their songs. We had a special guest, Danielle Meyers, who was our accompanist for the evening, and pulled the songs together. Overall, avery special evening, and one we won’t soon forget.

We have a lot of fun and exciting things happening in 2012. We will bring back our community Bingo night in January, and February will bring our annual Family Dance Night, our first-ever Talent Show, and an important PTA General Membership Meeting, where we will review mid-year financials and electour nominating committee for next year’s board.

Planning for our annualoff-site Gala, scheduled April 28, is well underway and we will have early bird tickets available in January with a special discounted price. Please get your tickets early as we will have limited space, and this is an event not to be missed!

We have so many great programs offered at Theodore Judah, including our after school programs. If you aren’t already aware, we now offer a Spanish class after school on Wednesdays and we also will bring back Running Fit Club in February, just to name a few. We had 100 kids join for the fall running club!  If you are looking to become more involved, or would like more information, please get in touch with me or any of the PTA board members. If you would like to become a member of the PTA, but don’t have time to volunteer – that’s okay! It’s not too late to join the PTA, and your child will be more enriched as a result. Studies shows a correlation between parent involvement (at any level) and student achievement.

Speaking of volunteers, we can’t thank you all enough!  Theodore Judah is truly blessed with the amount of volunteers we have; the time, resources and money you all give is what keeps the PTA programs running.  We also want to give a special thank you to the West-Erickson family for their generous end of the year donation.

I look forward to starting this year off with all of you, and continuingour great work. As always, I appreciate any and all involvement from you and welcome any input or questions.
